I’m your friendly neighbourhood fishmonger — now proudly based in the historic town of Rochester, Kent — bringing you the freshest, highest-quality fish and seafood in the area.

I’ve worked in the fish trade for over 12 years, and in the food industry for more than 16. I started as a Saturday boy in a local fishmongers, before working my way into Michelin-rated restaurants across Kent, with a short stint abroad on the Côte d’Azur.

Over the years, I’ve built a deep understanding of fresh fish, seafood quality, and sustainable sourcing — something I bring into everything I do today.

At the start of 2026, I decided to take the leap and open my own independent fishmongers — built around quality, honesty, and a genuine passion for seafood.

And so, C.J. Hook’s Fishmongers in Rochester High Street was born.​
